Moving Stories: FDN meets the eight-week challenge

The Furniture Delivery Network, the world’s largest dedicated Furniture Logistics provider, has completed one of its most demanding projects – to deliver 128 40ft containers of high-end furniture products to 20 new retail stores across the UK – in just eight weeks.

All of the deliveries, which also required a complete installation service at every store to make the project even more challenging, had to be completed within the timeframe to allow the new stores to open on schedule.

The total contract involved, receiving containers into FDN’s Distribution Hubs in London and the West Midlands, Stock Sortation, Inventory Control, Picking and Loading to Floor Plans, Delivery, Installation and Removal and Recycling of waste.

Scott Dunn, CEO of FDN, explained: “The client is one of the most prestigious manufacturers and suppliers of high-end quality domestic and contract furniture in the world and are naturally very demanding.”

“A key part of the brief was to ensure that our ‘white glove’ service met their very high standards and I am pleased to say that we passed every challenge with flying colours and continue to provide daily services for this esteemed customer.”

Ongoing, FDN’s daily delivery and installation services ensure that it fulfils all of the client’s online orders by delivering direct to customer’s homes in every part of the UK and installing product in the ‘room of choice’ as part of their ‘White Glove’ service.
